We are a leading manufacturer of multiroom audio-video systems, distributed worldwide. We currently have the following positions open:
| Embedded Software Engineer |
This position requires a highly motivated software developer who possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage a project in a fast paced team environment. You will be involved in the embedded software development efforts for residential audio/video control systems.
This position reports to the Software Engineering Lead. |
The Critical Outcomes/Success Factors
- Will work closely with QA/test to ensure high quality and reliability
- Produces well-structured, documented and maintainable software within the product development life-cycle
- Collaborates with other developers to produce software that interacts with the A/V devices and graphical interfaces
- Develop embedded software with a strong emphasis on object oriented methodology and design (C++)
- Provide accurate task estimates to ensure product delivery
- Maintain existing implementations with an emphasis on reliability and code reuse
The Qualifications
- BS in EE/CS, related technical field or equivalent job experience required
- 5+ years experience in software development for embedded systems required
- Experience working in Windows/Linux/Embedded development environments
- Excellent communications skills
- Extensive coding as a primary function with ability to manage individual technology projects
- Advanced proficiency with ANSI C/C++ required
- Excellent skills required in embedded software design, architecture and development
- Experience debugging with tools such as JTAG emulators
- Experience working with and maintaining build tools
- JavaScript experience preferred
- RTOS experience preferred
- Knowledge of State Machine/Pattern preferred
- Experience with PLC (Power Line Carrier) technology preferred
- XML/XSLT experience preferred
- Nokia Qt experience preferred
- TCP/IP networking experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of UPnP/DLNA a distinct advantage
