We are a leading manufacturer of multiroom audio-video systems, distributed worldwide. We currently have the following positions open:

Embedded Software Engineer
This position requires a highly motivated software developer who possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage a project in a fast paced team environment. You will be involved in the embedded software development efforts for residential audio/video control systems.

This position reports to the Software Engineering Lead.
The Critical Outcomes/Success Factors

  • Will work closely with QA/test to ensure high quality and reliability

  • Produces well-structured, documented and maintainable software within the product development life-cycle

  • Collaborates with other developers to produce software that interacts with the A/V devices and graphical interfaces

  • Develop embedded software with a strong emphasis on object oriented methodology and design (C++)

  • Provide accurate task estimates to ensure product delivery

  • Maintain existing implementations with an emphasis on reliability and code reuse


The Qualifications

  • BS in EE/CS, related technical field or equivalent job experience required

  • 5+ years experience in software development for embedded systems required

  • Experience working in Windows/Linux/Embedded development environments

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Extensive coding as a primary function with ability to manage individual technology projects

  • Advanced proficiency with ANSI C/C++ required

  • Excellent skills required in embedded software design, architecture and development

  • Experience debugging with tools such as JTAG emulators

  • Experience working with and maintaining build tools

  • JavaScript experience preferred

  • RTOS experience preferred

  • Knowledge of State Machine/Pattern preferred

  • Experience with PLC (Power Line Carrier) technology preferred

  • XML/XSLT experience preferred

  • Nokia Qt experience preferred

  • TCP/IP networking experience strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of UPnP/DLNA a distinct advantage
